Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi made a phone call on Saturday with United Arab Emirates Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on efforts to end the escalation and achieve lasting calm in the Middle East.
According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah stressed the need to implement a ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran and reach a comprehensive solution to the crisis that addresses all the root causes of the tension. They emphasized the importance of guaranteeing freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law and achieving lasting security and stability.
The ministers reiterated the absolute solidarity between Jordan and the UAE to confront Iranian aggression. They also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common interest as well as ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields.
