Amman: Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport, Fares Abu Dayyeh, engaged in discussions with Uzbek Deputy Minister of Transport, Jasurbek Choriev, and his accompanying delegation to explore ways to enhance cooperation in various transport fields. The talks focused on facilitating bilateral passenger and trade movement between Jordan and Uzbekistan.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting took place at the Ministry of Transport, where Abu Dayyeh emphasized the importance of enhancing transport activity and expanding mutual transport services. He reiterated the ministry's commitment to facilitating air passenger and cargo transport and the development of logistical infrastructure to benefit both countries' commercial and tourist interests.

Choriev underscored the significance of activating air freight agreements and improving coordination between the two countries' relevant authorities. He noted that transport cooperation is vital for developing air connectivity between the regions.

The ministry's statement highlighted that both sides agreed to take necessary steps to activate the amended protocol and air transport agreements. This includes increasing the number of flights by national carriers and arranging mutual visits to share experiences and review services. This vision aims to strengthen practical partnerships and serve the interests of the commercial and tourism sectors.

The discussions also covered coordination of logistics projects and infrastructure development to support the transport sector. The visiting delegation is scheduled to visit King Hussein Airport and the ports in Aqaba to assess their services and facilities.
