Jordan Announces Brunei Scholarships for 2026-2027 Academic Year

Amman: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on Monday the availability of scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year, offered by the Government of Brunei Darussalam. These scholarships cover diploma, bachelor's, and master's programs across various disciplines.

According to Jordan News Agency, the scholarships are provided by Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA), Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), and Politeknik Brunei. The comprehensive scholarship package includes coverage for tuition and registration fees, accommodation, health insurance, book allowance, meal allowance, a monthly stipend, and a round-trip economy-class air ticket.

The Ministry highlighted that the medium of instruction for these programs is English. Eligibility criteria specify that applicants must not exceed 25 years of age for diploma and bachelor's programs and 35 years for master's programs as of July 1, 2026. Prospective students must also achieve a minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS or 550 in TOEFL.

Applicants are also required to comply with the regulations for the equivalency of non-Jordanian certificates for 2023 and the amended instructions for 2025. The Ministry clarified that applicants need not visit the ministry for stamping or signing the application form. Interested students are encouraged to review the details, majors, and conditions, and submit their applications electronically through the designated link.

The Ministry also noted that Politeknik Brunei is acknowledged for offering diploma degrees only. The deadline to submit applications is set for February 15, 2026, with the academic year commencing in August. Applicants are urged to thoroughly review the instructions and available majors at each university to ensure accuracy and adherence to the specified requirements.
