Beirut: The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs condemned an attack on the French battalion of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), which resulted in the death of one French soldier and injuries to several others.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Ministry's official spokesperson, Ambassador Fouad Majali, expressed Jordan's sympathy and full solidarity with France amidst this tragic loss. He extended sincere condolences to the deceased soldier's family and wished the injured individuals a speedy recovery.
Majali emphasized the importance of ensuring the security of UN forces and the safety of their personnel. He reiterated Jordan's rejection of any attempts to target UNIFIL forces, which play a critical role in maintaining Lebanon's security and stability as per relevant UN resolutions.
