Amman: The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs on Sunday condemned as "incendiary and reprehensible" the remarks made by Israel's extremist National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, calling his statements a direct incitement against the Palestinian leadership and a blatant threat to the legitimate representatives of the Palestinian people.
According to Jordan News Agency, Ministry spokesperson Fares Majali stated that Jordan "categorically rejects" the continued stream of racist and provocative statements by senior members of the Israeli government. These statements come alongside escalating measures in the occupied West Bank and mounting pressures that further strain the Palestinian economy and daily life.
Majali warned that such actions risk pushing the situation toward dangerous escalation, potentially undermining the security and stability of the entire region.
He called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities by urging Israel to stop its dangerous policies and inflammatory rhetoric. Majali emphasized the need to uphold the Palestinian people's right to an independent, sovereign state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, which he described as the indispensable foundation for a just and comprehensive peace.
