Jordan Condemns Continued Israeli Attacks on Syrian Territory

Amman: Jordan has condemned the continued Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, including the latest incursions into the governorates of Quneitra and Daraa and the shelling of the area, describing them as a flagrant violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs issued a statement on Monday asserting that the attacks constitute a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. The ministry's official spokesperson, Ambassador Sufian Qudah, demanded an immediate halt to all repeated Israeli attacks and actions targeting Syria's security and stability, highlighting that these actions also violate Israel's obligations under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

Ambassador Qudah warned that the ongoing escalation would only contribute to further conflict and instability in the region. He reaffirmed Jordan's longstanding support for Syria's efforts to rebuild on foundations that preserve its unity, sovereignty, security, stability, territorial integrity, and the rights of all Syrians.

He further called on the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibilities by compelling Israel to end its unlawful attacks on Syria, withdraw from occupied Syrian territory, and respect international law, international legitimacy resolutions, state sovereignty, and the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of states.
