Amman: The Grand Mufti of Jordan, Dr. Ahmad Al-Hasanat, announced on Sunday that Monday will mark the first day of the Islamic holy month of Dhu al-Hijjah for the Hijri year 1447.
According to Jordan News Agency, the official religious declaration marks the beginning of the annual Hajj (pilgrimage) season and establishes the timeline for the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday, which traditionally begins on the tenth day of the lunar month.
