Amman: The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), in collaboration with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, the World Food Programme (WFP), and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), dispatched its ninth humanitarian aid convoy to Lebanon on Thursday.
According to Jordan News Agency, the convoy consists of 20 trucks filled with relief supplies, forming a part of Jordan's sustained efforts to support the Lebanese population. The aid is intended to address immediate humanitarian needs and assist vulnerable communities in Lebanon, aiming to improve living conditions and public health.
JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli stated that the convoy signifies Jordan's ongoing commitment to providing humanitarian aid in the region. He emphasized that the organization is coordinating with government bodies and international partners to ensure that the aid is delivered efficiently and aligns with the needs on the ground.
The organization also expressed gratitude towards Syrian authorities for facilitating the convoy's passage through Syria, as well as the movement of previous humanitarian shipments to Lebanon in recent weeks.
