Abu dhabi: A Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) delegation, led by Board Member Nouh Al-Sheyab, participated in the fifth Regional Preparatory Meeting for Arab States for the 25th World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25) held in the United Arab Emirates.
According to Jordan News Agency, the TRC stated that the meeting aimed to unify the positions of Arab countries concerning development sector priorities within the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The discussions focused on ITU executive decisions and proposed amendments designed to better serve Arab interests and support the enhancement of telecom services.
The meeting participants reviewed the operational mechanisms of the development sector and considered potential amendments to the study committee structures. New topics for study were also introduced, including emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, satellite communications, and digital transformation policies. Additionally, the meeting addressed sector priorities and regional initiatives that the ITU will implement through its regional office in the Arab region.
