Tokyo: The Counter-Extremism Unit at the Prime Ministry of Jordan participated on Tuesday in a significant roundtable discussion in Tokyo. The event, known as the "Ninth Dialogue on Countering Violent Extremism in the Middle East," aimed to address the ongoing challenges of violent extremism in the region.
According to Jordan News Agency, the roundtable was organized by Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and included participants from countries such as Jordan, Morocco, Kuwait, and Malaysia. Hala Khatib, the head of Jordan's Counter-Extremism Unit, highlighted Jordan's comprehensive and peaceful approach to tackling extremism. This approach focuses on confronting extremist ideologies, increasing youth awareness, and enhancing societal resilience.
The program also featured visits to several Japanese cities, where participants met with officials from Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with academics and specialists from Japanese universities, institutions, and international organizations engaged in counter-extremism efforts.
