Gaza: The Jordanian field hospital (South Gaza/10) hosted an open media day on Sunday to showcase its significant medical and humanitarian contributions to the civilian population in Gaza, alleviating the strain on local hospitals like the Nasser Medical Complex, which faces an influx of 700 to 1,000 patients daily.
According to Jordan News Agency, the hospital's commander highlighted the "Restore Hope" initiative, which has provided treatment to hundreds of amputees since its inception. This initiative aligns with a royal directive to transfer sick children to Jordan for treatment and includes the expansion of services with the establishment of seven specialist and emergency clinics in the Tal al-Hawa region of northern Gaza.
The hospital's director outlined their operations, focusing on four main areas: emergency services, specialized clinics, operating theaters, and the prosthetics department. The director reported executing thousands of specialized surgical interventions, including open-heart surgeries. The facility manages 10 to 15 amputation cases daily and has fitted approximately 300 prosthetic limbs in the past two months under the "Restore Hope" initiative.
During the media event, the hospital commander emphasized that the hospital's medical teams have conducted over 7,000 surgical procedures since its establishment. He assured that despite security risks and challenges, the Jordanian staff remains committed to their humanitarian and professional responsibilities, continuing to support the people of Gaza.
