Amman:Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation and KOUN for Drone Manufacturing have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore the integration of automation, artificial intelligence, smart logistics, and drone technologies in the development of industrial estates across the country.
According to Jordan News Agency, the agreement aims to enhance the corporation's efforts to create technology-enabled industrial infrastructure. This initiative seeks to find innovative solutions for improving operational efficiency, connectivity, and logistics services within its industrial estates.
KOUN General Manager Christian Atnas highlighted the focus areas of the collaboration, which include developing automated warehousing and smart logistics solutions. The partnership will also assess the feasibility of establishing a drone-based logistics network to connect the corporation's industrial estates with other locations. This assessment will explore potential use cases, routes, infrastructure needs, and pilot projects.
The memorandum also encourages joint efforts to promote smart industrial estates as advanced, technology-driven environments. This will be achieved through coordinated events, presentations, promotional activities, and case studies.
Both parties may identify and evaluate pilot projects to test the feasibility of the proposed solutions. Details such as scope, performance indicators, responsibilities, and implementation mechanisms for each project will be formalized in separate agreements, pending necessary approvals.
