Amman: Minister of Agriculture Saeb Khraisat discussed cooperation with Mohammad Abu Al-Rub, president of the International Arab Institute for Peace and Education and a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. The talks focused on supporting sustainable agriculture and enhancing food security, according to a ministry statement issued Sunday.
According to Jordan News Agency, Khraisat highlighted the importance of leveraging the institute's international role through activities held at the United Nations in the fields of agriculture, environment, water, and energy. He also cited its expertise in agricultural technology, innovative farming methods, and seed improvement. He stated that the ministry is keen to expand cooperation, particularly in training, building the capacities of ministry personnel, and raising farmers' awareness.
Abu Al-Rub expressed the institute's interest in strengthening relations with the ministry and consolidating their partnership through expertise exchange, a memorandum of understanding on technology transfer, and joint food security activities.
