The Arab Parliament said that Jordan is key and pivotal country in joint Arab action and regional systems.

Receiving a delegation from the Jordanian Lower House of Parliament, Deputy Alaa Abed, Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament lauded His Majesty King Abdullah’s wise policies and his great role in strengthening Arab solidarity and supporting the joint Arab action.

Speaking to the delegation, headed by Chairman of the Parliamentary National Steering, Information and Culture, MP Omar Zeyoud, Abed expressed the Arab Parliament’s appreciation the King’s great efforts towards the Palestinian cause and defending Islamic holy sites, foremost of which are the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Quds Al-Sharif, in light of the Hashemite custodianship of the holy sites in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

He underlined that the Arab Parliament will permanently support various issues that concern Jordan and serve the interests of its people, and the interests of Arab peoples in general.

The Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament said that the parliament’s new strategy is working to pay the media aspect more attention, by adopting a new media strategy in accordance with the requirements of the new media.

For his part, Zeyoud called for enhancing cooperation between Arab countries at the cultural level, raising national and intellectual awareness, and adopting a unified Arab media discourse, to confront extremist ideology.

He also called for the dissemination of enlightened thinking to form a full awareness among Arab peoples of the national and Arab interests in general, adding that Jordan “relies on the Arab Parliament to unify the Arab media discourse to enable it to face current challenges and meet the aspirations of Arab citizens.”
