Amman: The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) has announced a significant national achievement with the official inclusion of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan among the member states of the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (PIC/S), effective as of early January 2026.
According to Jordan News Agency, JFDA Director General Rana Obaidat stated that the achievement reflects the Royal visions aimed at developing the pharmaceutical industry and enhancing its global competitiveness. She described the membership as the culmination of the Authority's sustained efforts to upgrade regulatory systems and align them with the highest international standards.
Obaidat noted that Jordan has become the second regulatory authority in the region and the 57th worldwide to obtain membership in the prestigious international organization, after successfully meeting all required criteria and standards. The approval was granted by PIC/S member states during the organization's meeting held in Hong Kong, China, on November 4, 2025.
She emphasized that this membership demonstrates the efficiency and credibility of Jordan's pharmaceutical regulatory performance and reflects the international community's confidence in it. The move positions the JFDA as a recognized reference authority in pharmaceutical inspections and will directly contribute to facilitating the flow and export of Jordanian medicines to global markets.
