Amman: Director General of the Jordan Museum, Ihab Amarin, on Sunday received the Cultural Counselor at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China and Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Amman, Zhao Xiaoqiang, along with Assistant Director of the Center Ahmed Aqrabawi and Secretary Li Shinja.
According to Jordan News Agency, Amarin provided an overview of the museum's objectives and the royal vision behind its establishment, which focuses on preserving the Kingdom's antiquities and history. The museum aims to present these cultural assets to both Jordanian and international visitors, showcasing Jordan's longstanding creativity.
Amarin emphasized the museum's commitment to building relationships with national museums in other countries to facilitate expertise exchange and foster cultural cooperation. He also mentioned significant achievements, such as the creation of the Jordan Museums Association, led by HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, who serves as the Vice Chair of the Museum's Board of Trustees. The association plays a role in representing Jordan at the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
The Chinese Cultural Counselor Zhao Xiaoqiang expressed interest in the museum's initiatives and highlighted the potential for collaboration in several areas, including expertise exchange, temporary exhibitions, joint projects, and research endeavors.
