According to Jordan News Agency, the match was a significant event, with notable figures such as Her Highness Princess Rajwa Al Hussein, His Highness Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II, Her Highness Princess Iman bint Abdullah II, Her Highness Princess Salma bint Abdullah II, His Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, who is the President of the Jordan Football Association and President of the West Asian Football Federation, present to witness the historic achievement.
The team's path to the World Cup was paved through victories over Oman and Iraq, culminating in a crucial match against South Korea. Ali Alwan was instrumental in the match against Oman, scoring a hat-trick with a penalty kick right before halftime and adding two more goals in the 51st and 63rd minutes.
This victory came during the ninth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches, with the team now set to face Iraq in the final qualifying round. The decisive last match is scheduled for next Tuesday at 9:15 PM at the Amman International Stadium.
