Damascus: A Jordanian delegation coordinated by the Jordanian Nursing Council has concluded its participation in a specialized training program on public health for developing countries, held in the Chinese cities of Beijing and Kunming from July 8-22, with the participation of 32 specialists from 10 countries.
According to Jordan News Agency, Secretary-General of the Jordanian Nursing Council Hani Nawafleh stated that the participation followed directives from Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al Hussein, President of the Council. This initiative aligns with the Council's efforts to strengthen international partnerships, exchange expertise, and benefit from global experiences in healthcare development and workforce training.
Nawafleh emphasized the significance of the Chinese experience in areas such as long-term health planning, primary healthcare, community health management, emergency response, and healthcare workforce development. He highlighted the potential for expanding Jordanian-Chinese cooperation in public health, scientific research, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence applications within healthcare.
The Council is focused on advancing the regulatory framework for nursing and midwifery professions by updating legislation, improving national examinations, enhancing continuing education, and developing professional competencies to boost the readiness of healthcare workers.
Deputy Chairperson of the Beijing Community Health Promotion Association, Zou Jianrong, commended the Jordanian participation and expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Jordanian institutions in primary healthcare policies and capacity building. The association's advisor, Dongsheng Li, also praised the Jordanian delegation's involvement in the program's discussions and field activities, recognizing the experience and qualifications of Jordanian healthcare professionals.
The program featured a presentation by Jordanian Nursing Council representative Ashraf Al-Saudi on future areas of health cooperation between Jordan and China. It also included lectures and field visits to healthcare institutions, traditional Chinese medicine centers, and elderly care facilities.
The Jordanian delegation consisted of six participants representing the University of Jordan Hospital, Jordan Hospital, Al-Istishari Hospital, Al Abdali Hospital, and Applied Science Private University.
