Amman: Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar discussed the development of the relations between Jordan and Pakistan, in line with the outcomes of His Majesty King Abdullah II's visit to Pakistan on November 14, 2015.

According to Jordan News Agency, in a phone call Tuesday, Safadi and Dar expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and emphasized the importance of ensuring the success of efforts to uphold the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran. They highlighted the need to reach a solution that guarantees freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz while addressing all sources of regional tension.

Safadi acknowledged Pakistan's significant role in efforts to defuse the crisis and support a lasting solution. The ministers expressed concerns over the dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank due to Israel's continued illegal measures, which they stated further entrench the occupation and attempt to alter the historical and legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Both ministers condemned these provocative actions and called for coordinated regional and international efforts to confront them. They also urged for the implementation of all provisions of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan regarding Gaza. In addition, Safadi and Dar exchanged views on various regional and international issues of mutual interest.
