Jordan Post Proposes Arab E-Commerce Corridor

Rabat: Jordan Post Director General Hanadi Al-Tayeb on Wednesday called for an integrated cross-border e-commerce system among Arab countries combining supportive policies, digital and logistics infrastructure, data exchange, capacity-building, and human resource development.

According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Tayeb spoke at the third Arab Postal Leaders Forum, organized by the Universal Postal Union in Morocco. She emphasized that the Arab region has the resources required to become one of the world's most dynamic e-commerce markets.

Al-Tayeb introduced Jordan's proposed Arab e-commerce corridor, aimed at creating an integrated regional framework. The corridor plans to expand advance electronic data exchange, simplify customs and operational procedures, improve connectivity among postal networks, and develop competitive logistics solutions tailored for small- and medium-sized enterprises.

As part of this initiative, Jordan Post has established the International Academy for E-Commerce and Logistics. This specialized training platform covers e-commerce, logistics, digital marketing, online stores, and digital platforms. The academy has trained participants to operate across global e-commerce platforms and markets, supported job creation, and facilitated women in establishing online shopping businesses.

Jordan Post has also enhanced its logistics, digital, tracking, and delivery services, enabling small and medium-sized enterprises to access foreign markets more efficiently. The forum recognized Jordan's digital and e-commerce accomplishments, particularly the unified trade center and the international academy, citing these as "successful models" in postal, e-commerce, and logistics development.

On the sidelines of the forum, Al-Tayeb engaged with Egyptian and Tunisian delegations to exchange expertise in e-commerce and postal, financial, and digital services.
