Jordan, Qatar Call for Immediate Ceasefire and Negotiations to Address Regional Tensions

Amman: Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani engaged in a phone conversation on Sunday, focusing on the urgent need for collective action to halt the escalating regional crisis.

According to Jordan News Agency, the leaders emphasized the necessity of an immediate ceasefire and a return to negotiations to achieve a comprehensive resolution. They stressed that any final agreement must tackle all underlying causes of tension and ensure the freedom of navigation in the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz.

In their discussion, Safadi and Sheikh Mohammed expressed "full solidarity" in opposing Iranian attacks, cautioning about the "severe consequences" that could follow if the hostilities persist.
