Amman: Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi on Tuesday met with Qatari Ambassador Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani to discuss bilateral relations, specifically focusing on parliamentary collaboration.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting, which took place at the House's headquarters, highlighted the strong Jordanian-Qatari ties under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar. Both parties stressed the importance of ongoing communication and consultation to benefit the interests of both nations and their citizens.
Qadi and Al Thani described the bilateral relations as a model of cooperation founded on mutual respect, trust, and appreciation. They emphasized that the two countries share brotherly ties and common interests aimed at serving Arab causes.
Qadi expressed the Lower House's dedication to enhancing parliamentary cooperation with the Qatari Shura Council. He also pointed out the recent meeting between Prime Minister Jafar Hassan and Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, which focused on boosting joint economic relations.
Al Thani acknowledged Jordan's positions under the leadership of the King and reiterated Qatar's support for the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. He also affirmed Qatar's commitment to fostering mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
