Amman: The General Union of Voluntary Societies (GUVS) has highlighted Jordan's standing as a paragon of tolerance on both a regional and international level. The organization stressed the significance of fostering cooperation and promoting a culture of tolerance and openness, emphasizing that harmony, despite differences, is an ethical imperative to enhance love and goodwill within society. According to Jordan News Agency, the GUVS issued a statement on Saturday to mark the International Day for Tolerance, a day adopted by the United Nations General Assembly under Resolution 9551. The statement reaffirmed GUVS's commitment to spreading values of goodwill, humanity, and cooperation by providing aid and support to those in need. It emphasized that Jordan serves as a model of tolerance, rooted in respect and appreciation of cultural diversity, and views tolerance as a fundamental virtue that fosters a culture of peace rather than conflict. The statement further noted the importance of reinforcing a culture of tolerance, dialogue, and acceptance in a world currently beset by wars, conflicts, and widespread hate.
