The Ministry of Health announced 19 Covid-19 fatalities and 1, 1180 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 9, 314 and the caseload to 727, 612.

The new infections comprised 415 cases in the capital, Amman, 205 in Irbid, including 12 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 161 in Zarqa, 85 in Mafraq, 71 in Balqa, 55 in Ma’an , including 6 in Petra region, 54 in Karak, 50 in Ajloun, 33 in Jerash, 25 in Madaba, 14 in Aqaba, and 12 in Tafileh, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.

The statement added that there are currently 10, 689 active COVID-19 cases in Jordan.

The number of hospitalizations today stood at 80, while 70 patients have recovered and discharged, the statement noted.

According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded Wednesday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 1,007, bringing the total to 707,609 since the outbreak began.

Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 645.

The statement also indicated that occupancy of the ICU bed capacity has hit 27%, 17%, and 7%, in the northern, central, and southern regions, respectively.

With regard to testing, 32,690 tests were conducted Wednesday, 3.61 percent of which were positive.

Since March, 2020, the total number of tests administered has increased to 7,034,669, the joint statement noted.
