Amman: The Jordan Red Crescent, with support from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), organized a workshop in Amman under the theme "Introduction to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and the Auxiliary Role to Local Authorities."
According to Jordan News Agency, the workshop was inaugurated by Jordan Red Crescent President Mohammed Hadid, the ICRC Head of Delegation in Jordan Yann Fridez, and the IFRC Head of Delegation Atta Durrani. The event also witnessed the participation of representatives from various ministries and national institutions.
The primary objective of the workshop was to acquaint participants with the international movement, emphasize the auxiliary role of the Jordan Red Crescent alongside local authorities, and examine the roles of the IFRC and the ICRC in supporting national societies.
Hadid highlighted the necessity of enhancing cooperation and coordination with local and international partners to deliver humanitarian services effectively. He also commended the efforts of national institutions and movement partners in their support of humanitarian initiatives.
Participants included representatives from the Ministries of Social Development, Finance, Education, Health, and Transport, as well as the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, the National Center for Security and Crises Management, and the Public Security Directorate, along with officials from the ICRC and the IFRC.
