Some 25 coronavirus deaths and 1,392 infections were recorded across the Kingdom Saturday, raising the death toll from the pandemic to 12,856 and total infections to 1,077,432, according to the Health Ministry’s updated figures.

About 24,429 PCR tests were collected today and 5.70% of these came back positive, the ministry said in its daily brief.

It said that currently active cases stood at 26,011, with 74 admitted today to hospitals, raising the total number of confirmed cases being hospitalized to 716 cases. Some 51 Covid-19 patients have left hospitals, it added.

On hospital capacity nationwide, the occupancy rate of isolation beds in the northern region was 12%, intensive care 34% and respirators 17%, the ministry said.

In the central region, isolation beds’ occupancy was at 18%, intensive care beds 33% and respirators 13%, according to the report.

In the southern region, isolation wards were operating at a 10% capacity, intensive care 10% and respirators 9%, it said.

The ministry said 1,447 virus cases recovered, bringing total recoveries after the end of the 14-day isolation period to 1,038,565.

Inoculation figures also showed that 4,448,564 people have taken the first dose of the Covid vaccines and 4,047,488 have been double-jabbed.
