Jordan Sends Aid to Venezuela in Partnership with Qatar

Amman: Upon Royal directives, Jordan on Thursday dispatched medical, relief, and food aid to Venezuela, in cooperation with Qatar, to support disaster response efforts in the aftermath of the earthquakes. A Qatari C-17 aircraft departed from Amman City Airport carrying 26 tonnes of medical supplies, as well as basic food supplies to meet the needs of people affected by the earthquakes.

According to Jordan News Agency, the aid also includes supplies and equipment for Jordan's search and rescue team dispatched by the Public Security Directorate, which had commenced field operations in Venezuela earlier this week. Another Qatari aircraft is due to depart from Amman City Airport on Friday carrying the same amount of aid.

The support is aimed at boosting local capacities in Venezuela to help manage the disaster response efforts, bolster the healthcare sector, and provide basic supplies for those affected. The aid is in line with Jordan's humanitarian efforts undertaken upon Royal directives in support of nations in need of assistance during disaster response.
