Jordan Set to Host Major International Mixed Martial Arts Event

Amman:Jordan is preparing to host a mixed martial arts (MMA) week from October 27 to 30, bringing together both Jordanian and international athletes for a significant sporting and tourism event.

According to Jordan News Agency, the program will feature professional bouts, public activities, and tourism site visits, culminating in the "DF UNCAGED" fight night. The event will include 13 bouts with Jordanian champions competing alongside fighters from various countries, offering local athletes the chance to perform before their home audience while attracting regional and international media interest.

The guest program will feature notable figures from sports, the arts, and digital content creation. Activities will commence with a press conference on October 27 at the Odeon Theatre, near the Roman Theatre, where organizers, athletes, and media representatives will discuss event details.

Open training sessions are scheduled for October 28 at the Dead Sea Corniche, allowing the public to observe and interact with fighters. This activity aims to connect sport with one of Jordan's key tourism destinations, attracting visitors to the area.

The official weigh-ins will occur on October 29 at the Amman Citadel, leading up to the fight night on October 30 at the Roman Theatre, which will also feature artistic performances, heritage displays, and entertainment. Guests will visit various cultural and archaeological sites across Jordan, sharing their experiences through media coverage and digital content.

Organizers aim for extensive regional and international media coverage, targeting outlets such as MBC channels, Shahid, Brazil's Globo, USA Today, MMA Weekly, and FloGrappling, as well as local Jordanian media. This coverage seeks to promote sports tourism and introduce audiences to Jordan's diverse attractions.

The participation of international athletes and the accompanying media coverage present opportunities to highlight Jordan's sites and culture to a global audience, bolstering the country's reputation as a destination for tourism and events.

Preparations for the event include organizational, on-site, and media arrangements in collaboration with relevant authorities, ensuring the preservation of archaeological sites. Tickets for the week's activities and the fight night are available through Tzkrti.

The event is organized under the supervision of the Jordan Mixed Martial Arts Federation, with support from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Jordan Tourism Board, and several other governmental bodies.
