Amman:Jordan has announced its support for the United Arab Emirates' nomination of Lana Zaki Nusseibeh for the position of United Nations Secretary-General, the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs stated Monday.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry emphasized Nusseibeh's extensive diplomatic experience and her career in multilateral diplomacy, highlighting her contributions to promoting dialogue, mutual understanding, and international consensus.
The ministry also reiterated Jordan's commitment to multilateral cooperation and to strengthening the UN's role and effectiveness in addressing global challenges and maintaining international peace and security, in accordance with the UN Charter and international law.
Furthermore, the ministry expressed confidence in Nusseibeh's ability to enhance the organization's effectiveness and performance, extending their best wishes for her success in the role.
