Cairo: Jordan participated on Sunday in a workshop titled "Media and Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Challenges," organized by the Strategic Research and Studies Department of the Arab League in Cairo. Representing Jordan at the event was Alaa Zyoud, media adviser to the permanent mission, who attended both sessions and participated in the ensuing discussions.
According to Jordan News Agency, the workshop featured ten research papers and served as a platform for exchanging ideas and expertise on the opportunities and challenges posed by artificial intelligence (AI). Experts and specialists from across the Arab world participated, along with researchers and academics from media and communication faculties at several Egyptian universities.
The first session focused on how AI can enhance media operations and audience engagement, while the second session addressed the future of journalism and strategic adaptation to AI, particularly concerning data privacy, the fight against misinformation, and the impact of AI on jobs in the media industry.
In opening remarks, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector, Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, emphasized that media is undergoing a transformation driven by rapid AI advancements, reshaping the landscape in ways unimaginable just a few years ago.
