Amman: The Audit Bureau, in cooperation with the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI), will host the official celebration marking the organization's 50th anniversary, or golden jubilee, next Thursday. Jordan's selection to host the event reflects the Kingdom's standing and the Audit Bureau's leading role in supporting joint Arab cooperation and developing financial oversight and governance tools, the Audit Bureau said in a statement Tuesday.
According to Jordan News Agency, Jordan has also contributed to ARABOSAI's activities by hosting training sessions and meetings of the organization's committees. The bureau noted that hosting the event underscores Jordan's firm commitment to empowering financial and audit oversight institutions, chief among them the Audit Bureau, and reflects its belief in their central role in safeguarding public funds, promoting transparency, integrity, and governance, and supporting state institutions in improving resource management.
The anniversary's slogan, "Fifty Years of Work for Transparency, Accountability and Good Governance," embodies ARABOSAI's commitment to joint Arab action and continued development to keep pace with international oversight practices, the bureau said. The celebration, to be attended by heads of several Arab audit institutions, marks half a century of ARABOSAI's achievements in building Arab oversight capacity, unifying standards, developing human expertise, and deepening partnerships among member states' supreme audit institutions, including Jordan's Audit Bureau.
The event will include scientific sessions bringing together specialists to discuss oversight, digital transformation, and technology-based auditing.
