Jordan: Jordan will participate in the 6th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the Arab Anti-Corruption Convention, which opens on Monday in Qatar. The conference will run from September 21 to 23 and will focus on assessing progress on past decisions, reviewing subcommittee recommendations, and addressing challenges related to varying legislative frameworks and institutional capacities among member states.
According to Jordan News Agency, the conference will have participation from 21 Arab countries. Delegates will concentrate on enhancing inter-state coordination and accelerating mutual legal assistance. Jordan's delegation will be led by Jordan Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) Chairman Hazem Majali. The delegation includes JIACC board member Saad Shehab, Investigation and Operations Director Bakr Bqour, and International Partnerships Head Rawan Zoubi.
A side meeting of experts is scheduled to draft a unified Arab guide for parallel financial investigations into corruption. The meeting will also propose methods to expedite mutual legal assistance and improve transparency in beneficial ownership.
