The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned in the strongest terms the calls made by ministers and members of the Israeli Knesset to build settlements in the Gaza Strip, as a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and a violation that reflects an exclusionary and expansionist mentality that requires the imposition of deterrent international sanctions on its perpetrators. The Ministry's spokesperson, Sufyan Al-Qudah, reaffirmed the Kingdom's rejection and condemnation of these inflammatory settlement calls by ministers and members of the Israeli Knesset, in flagrant violation of international law and UN Security Council resolutions, especially Resolution 2334, which condemns all Israeli measures aimed at changing the demographic composition, character and status of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, and affirms that all Israeli settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, are illeg al under international law, in addition to the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ),, which emphasized the illegality of the Israeli occupation, Israeli settlements, and annexation of the Occupied Palestinian Territory. Al-Qudah said that the calls for settlement in Gaza are an extension of the policy of the extremist Israeli government, which continues its aggression against Gaza, besieging the northern Gaza Strip and preventing the entry of food and medicine to its residents, in an attempt to impose new facts by force. Al-Qudah stressed the Kingdom's rejection of any approach that deals with Gaza separately from the rest of the occupied Palestinian territory, and any action must be based on a comprehensive vision aimed at reaching a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue on the basis of the two-state solution, ending the occupation and establishing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with occupied Jerusalem as its capital. The Minis try's spokesperson called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities, especially the UN Security Council, to compel Israel to stop its aggression on Gaza immediately, end the humanitarian disaster caused by the aggression, ensure the protection of civilians, stop its illegal and dangerous escalation measures in the occupied West Bank, and provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people.
