Amman: Jordan on Sunday warned of the catastrophic consequences of the ongoing dangerous escalation in the region, emphasizing the urgent need for concerted international efforts to de-escalate tensions and safeguard regional and global peace and security.

According to Jordan News Agency, in a statement, the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs expressed deep concern over recent developments, particularly the targeting of Iranian nuclear facilities, and called for an immediate halt to the war. The Ministry reiterated Jordan's firm position on the need to resume negotiations aimed at achieving a political resolution to the Iranian nuclear issue.

Ambassador Sufian Qudah, the Ministry's official spokesperson, condemned the continued escalation and underlined the importance of adhering to international law, the United Nations Charter, and the principle of respecting state sovereignty.

Qudah called on the international community to take swift and effective measures to prevent further deterioration, urging the activation of credible political processes to resolve regional crises. He stressed the importance of upholding the rights of peoples and reinforcing respect for the sovereignty and stability of all states in the region.
