Amman: Chairman of the Senate's Palestine Committee, Mazen Darwaza, and Rapporteur of its Arab, International and Expatriate Affairs Committee, Ali Ayed, met with Mohamed Khouane, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and the National Community Abroad in the Algerian Parliament. The discussions centered around enhancing joint cooperation between the two nations.
According to Jordan News Agency, the two sides explored ways to bolster their collaborative efforts. Darwaza and Ayed emphasized the longstanding, brotherly, and historic relations between Jordan and Algeria, which are grounded in mutual respect and constructive cooperation. They stressed the importance of strengthening parliamentary cooperation frameworks and increasing coordination between the relevant committees in both countries. This, they noted, would facilitate the exchange of expertise and bolster economic and trade relations, ultimately contributing to joint development and fulfilling the aspirations of both peoples.
Khouane, representing the Algerian side, acknowledged the robust bilateral ties and commended the significant role of the Algerian-Jordanian Friendship Group in enhancing parliamentary cooperation and supporting bilateral relations. He advocated for the establishment of a genuine economic partnership and emphasized the potential benefits of leveraging the opportunities and privileges offered by the Algerian investment law.
Furthermore, Khouane reiterated Algeria's steadfast position on the Palestinian and Sahrawi issues and highlighted the importance of joint Arab action to advance both national and regional interests.
