Amman: Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Jordanian Duty Free Shops (JDFS), Kholoud Saqqaf, emphasized that the development of border duty-free outlets plays a crucial role in driving the national economy.
According to Jordan News Agency, Saqqaf, during an inspection visit to the duty-free shops at the Jaber border crossing, reviewed various aspects such as workflow operations, operational and commercial facets, service procedures for travelers and visitors, facility readiness, service quality, and the mechanisms adopted for operations. She was accompanied by several JDFS department directors.
Saqqaf highlighted that the current board of directors has embraced a strategy to enhance the shopping experience, modernize display methods, and increase operational efficiency, aligning with global best practices in the duty-free sector. She noted that the duty-free outlet at the Jaber crossing is a significant site within the company's network, serving a vital role in passenger traffic and cross-border trade.
Furthermore, Saqqaf underscored the need to upgrade the duty-free infrastructure and diversify the product range to meet the varied tastes and nationalities of customers, thereby enhancing the regional competitiveness of Jordanian duty-free shops. She stated that JDFS's contribution to the national economy necessitates ongoing development, care, and preservation, in line with Royal directives to support key economic sectors for sustainable development in Jordan.
Additionally, Saqqaf expressed her appreciation for the staff's efforts at the Jaber duty-free outlet, acknowledging that human resources are essential for improving performance and achieving company goals. She also thanked the security, customs, and administrative authorities at the Jaber border for their cooperative efforts, highlighting that this integration is a success factor that reflects a positive image of coordinated national work.
