Amman: Jordanian Field Hospital South Gaza/7 has successfully carried out a critical neurosurgery on a 19-year-old patient who suffered a head injury resulting in a severe subdural hemorrhage.

According to Jordan News Agency, the hospital's force commander indicated that this operation is part of the Royal directives aimed at delivering essential medical and humanitarian services to the people in the Gaza Strip, in an effort to alleviate their suffering amid ongoing conflict. The commander highlighted the hospital's capability to perform specialized surgeries with the assistance of a proficient medical team.

The hospital director confirmed that the surgery was completed by the facility's medical team, which specializes in brain and nerve surgery, along with anesthesia. The neurosurgeon elaborated that the injury was due to shrapnel penetration, necessitating immediate surgical intervention to address the severe subdural hemorrhage.

Detailing the procedure, the neurosurgeon stated that the surgery lasted five hours. The medical team opened the skull, drained the hemorrhage, and removed cerebral clots. This prompt intervention was crucial in saving the patient's life and preventing further medical complications. Post-surgery, the patient was closely monitored in intensive care and eventually discharged in stable condition.

The patient's family expressed profound gratitude towards His Majesty King Abdullah II and commended the efforts of the Jordanian field hospital's staff in alleviating the effects of the war on the people of Gaza.
