Jordanian Investor Confidence Index Sees Significant Growth in Q2 2026

Amman:The Jordanian Investor Confidence Index experienced a substantial increase of 21.9% in the second quarter of 2026, reaching 186.6 points compared to 153.1 points in the first quarter.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Economic Activity Confidence Index also saw a notable rise of 74.3% in the second quarter, reaching 200 points from 114.7 points in the previous quarter, marking its highest level in the past three years.

The country's real GDP growth was recorded at 3% in the second quarter of 2026, up from 2.8% in the same period of 2025 and 2.9% in the first quarter of 2026. Additionally, the general budget deficit, after grants, was approximately JD557 million, a decrease from JD722 million in the first quarter of the year.

Foreign direct investment inflows amounted to about JD458 million in the second quarter, representing the second-highest quarterly level over the past three years. Meanwhile, the interest-rate differential between the Jordanian dinar and the US dollar stood at 2.0 percentage points during this period.

The Amman Stock Exchange index increased by 305 points, reaching 7,517 points in the second quarter, compared to 7,212 points in the first quarter.

The Jordan Strategy Forum indicates that these developments reflect ongoing efforts to attract investment to the Kingdom and enhance the business environment, thereby contributing to higher living standards for Jordanians.
