Amman: Legislators in Jordan's Lower House asserted that the country is not a platform for "manipulators and renegades." In a session led by Speaker Ahmad Safadi and attended by members of the government team, they emphasized Jordan's status as a sovereign state governed by its constitution and laws, with a rich national, Arab, Islamic, and moral heritage.
According to Jordan News Agency, the legislators highlighted the importance of safeguarding the national fabric, which they described as rooted in the sacrifices of martyrs, the efforts of soldiers, and the aspirations of citizens. They declared Jordan's unity unbreakable and warned that any attempts to compromise national security are misguided, as Jordanians remain united under the Hashemite leadership.
The MPs stressed that Jordan will not become a battleground for regional disputes or foreign conflicts, prioritizing the sovereignty, security, and stability of the state. They affirmed the nation's resilience against conspiracies under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, maintaining Jordan as an oasis of security and stability.
During the session, a video featuring excerpts from His Majesty's speeches was shown, emphasizing the rejection of external influence and honoring the Jordanian Armed Forces and security services. The lawmakers reiterated their support for His Majesty, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, and the country's security services and armed forces, declaring the Jordanian people as steadfast against sedition.
The MPs condemned attempts to exploit the Palestinian cause for subversive schemes, asserting that true resistance does not involve dragging Jordan into chaos. They identified national unity as the strongest defense against these threats, urging unity that transcends sectarian divides and aligns with Jordanian interests.
Criticism was directed at those using populist tactics to manipulate public emotions for partisan agendas. The legislators called for transparency regarding any foreign affiliations of political parties and advocated for strict enforcement of political and anti-terrorism laws, emphasizing accountability for constitutional violations.
The MPs underscored allegiance to the Hashemite monarchy and Jordanian identity as central to political engagement, rejecting foreign influences in financial and intellectual support of any party. They denounced a recent terrorist plot linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, highlighting the need for unwavering support of the armed forces and security bodies to maintain national security.
