Manama: King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the presence of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, received Ayman Safadi, Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs of Jordan. Safadi conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, along with wishes for Bahrain's continued progress and prosperity.
According to Jordan News Agency, King Hamad expressed pride in the strong historical relations and ties between Jordan and Bahrain. He remarked on the ongoing development of these relations, emphasizing the mutual commitment of both nations to expanding cooperation. King Hamad sent his greetings to King Abdullah II and wished for Jordan's continued progress. He highlighted the importance of sustained communication to enhance cooperation, consultation, and coordination on various regional issues.
Safadi acknowledged King Hamad's role in strengthening the historical relations between the two kingdoms and appreciated Bahrain's support for Arab causes. He emphasized Jordan's pride in the expanding Jordanian-Bahraini relations, which are reflected in increased cooperation across political, economic, and developmental fields.
Following the meeting with the Bahraini leadership, Safadi engaged in extensive talks with Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and elevating cooperation across various sectors. The diplomats affirmed their commitment to continued coordination and consultation in international forums, particularly during Bahrain's term as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
Safadi congratulated Al Zayani on Bahrain's Security Council membership and underscored its importance in supporting Arab causes and enhancing regional security. The talks addressed regional and international developments, emphasizing efforts to achieve security, stability, and a just peace in the region.
The ministers discussed the importance of consolidating the ceasefire in Gaza and the need for immediate humanitarian aid delivery to the region. They also highlighted the necessity for intensified efforts to achieve a lasting peace based on a two-state solution, in line with international law and the Arab Peace Initiative.
Safadi and Al Zayani expressed support for Syria's reconstruction efforts and reaffirmed their commitment to Lebanon's security and stability. They also emphasized the importance of resolving crises in Yemen and Sudan to ensure security and stability in those regions.
Additionally, Safadi participated in a diplomatic forum organized by the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of Bahrain's Diplomatic Day. During a dialogue session, he reiterated the strength of the ties between Jordan and Bahrain, highlighting ongoing partnerships that create opportunities for expanded cooperation.
