Jordanian MP Adds Clause Recognizing Army’s Role in Arab Parliament Statement

Baghdad: The Al Mithaq Al Watani (National Charter) Party on Tuesday announced that MP Ali Khalaileh, a member of the Al Mithaq Parliamentary Bloc and representative to the Arab Parliament, succeeded in adding a clause to the final communiqu© of the Arab Parliament meeting in Baghdad. This clause highlights the pivotal role of the Jordan Armed Forces Arab Army in preserving the security and stability of Jordan and the region.

According to Jordan News Agency, the party stated that this move reflects Jordan's firm and effective stance in Arab parliamentary institutions. It underscores the Kingdom's consistent efforts to garner support in the face of threats targeting its national security and citizens' safety.

The party noted that the clause was unanimously adopted by the members of the Arab Parliament and officially incorporated into the final statement. This signals broad Arab appreciation for Jordan's steadfast role in supporting Arab causes, defending collective security, and rejecting attempts to undermine state institutions or national symbols.

In his remarks, MP Khalaileh emphasized that "The Jordanian army is a creed and an identity, not just a military formation. Anyone who seeks to target it is, in fact, undermining the memory and security of the nation."

The party highlighted that this stance aligns with Jordan's official policies and the firm positions of His Majesty King Abdullah II. It includes support for the Palestinian cause, preserving Arab unity, and bolstering internal resilience against challenges and misleading media campaigns.
