Amman: The Lower House "Irada-Will" and Islamic National blocs have called on the international community to intervene and halt the famine in the Gaza Strip, which they attribute to a systematic starvation policy by the Israeli occupation.

According to Jordan News Agency, the parliamentary blocs issued a press statement on Sunday criticizing the global community for remaining silent despite its proclamations to end starvation in Gaza. They highlighted the ongoing aggression and blockade that have devastated essential life-supporting systems in the region, including food supply chains, bakeries, medical facilities, and places of worship.

The statement also commended the Kingdom of Jordan's stance on the developments in Gaza, particularly noting His Majesty King Abdullah II's recent address at the European Parliament. King Abdullah emphasized the gravity of the systematic starvation occurring in the Palestinian strip, underscoring Jordan's commitment to addressing the humanitarian crisis.
