The championship was recently held in Baku, Azerbaijan, bringing together universities, research teams, and innovators specializing in robotics and artificial intelligence from around the world. According to Jordan News Agency, the award-winning project, AgriHexa, was developed by computer engineering students Mahmoud Abu Hamdeh and Abdulrahman Al-Shoubaki, along with mechatronics engineering student Abdullah Abu Zahia, under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sarayreh and engineer Dima Zaidan. AgriHexa is an autonomous six-legged robot designed to address ag ricultural challenges in rugged and difficult-to-access terrain. The robot is engineered to operate efficiently on mountainous, uneven landscapes and in areas where conventional farming equipment cannot reach, supporting the advancement of smart agriculture and sustainable farming practices. The system integrates advanced artificial intelligence, computer vision, aerial image analysis, and satellite imagery to assess terrain conditions, determine the level of navigational difficulty, and autonomously select the most efficient route while maintaining stability through sophisticated motion control and sensing technologies. The robot is also equipped with an integrated smart planting mechanism that automatically sows seeds in the most suitable locations based on real-time data analysis during operation. This capability enhances agricultural efficiency while opening new possibilities for deploying robotics to strengthen food security and promote sustainable agricultural development. The Caspian Cup World Robot ics Championship is regarded as one of the leading international competitions in robotics, artificial intelligence, and technological innovation. Held annually, it attracts university teams, researchers, and innovators from across the globe to showcase advanced engineering solutions, foster international scientific collaboration, encourage innovation, and prepare the next generation of engineers to lead future technologies.
