Amman: Secretary-General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Amani Azzam, was awarded a certificate of appreciation for the ministry's efforts in executing an impact assessment (IA) study for legislation and policies. The accolade was presented at the "Ceremony Announcing Effectiveness of the Regulation on Good Regulation and Impact Assessment of Legislation and Policies No. (16) of 2025," organized in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

According to Jordan News Agency, the ceremony included a presentation by Bushra Abbadi, Director of the Ministry's Planning and International Cooperation Directorate, who highlighted the challenges faced by the ministry's team in devising the impact assessment strategy focusing on energy demand management. Abbadi encouraged Jordanian government bodies to embrace the impact assessment methodology as it enhances the quality of decision-making.

Abbadi emphasized that systematic analysis is crucial for reducing economic, social, and environmental costs over time. The Good Regulatory System and Impact Assessment of Legislation and Policies No. (16) of 2025 aims to improve the quality of legislation and public policies by employing impact assessment mechanisms and aligning them with national priorities.

This initiative plays a vital role in boosting the efficiency and effectiveness of decision-making processes, aligning with the government's objectives to uphold good governance principles and foster partnerships with international organizations.

The ceremony was attended by Minister of State for Public Sector Development, Badria Belbisi, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Touqan, officials from various ministries, public representatives, and delegates from the German Embassy.
