Jakarta: Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto hosted Jordan's King Abdullah II in Jakarta on Friday, focusing on expanding cooperation in defence and economic sectors.
According to Nam News Network, the meeting in Jakarta was part of King Abdullah's regional tour across several Asian countries, including Singapore, Japan, Pakistan, and Vietnam. The talks between Abdullah and Prabowo centered on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for collaboration in the fields of economy, defence, and trade, as confirmed by Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono.
The two leaders shared their longstanding friendship, rooted in their past military service. President Prabowo expressed his deep emotional connection with Jordan and recalled his fond memories of time spent there. In response, King Abdullah referred to Prabowo as his brother and honored him with a Jordanian royal award, commending the president's commitment to improving the lives of Indonesian citizens.
During his two-day visit, King Abdullah also engaged with leaders from Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund, Danantara Indonesia, further emphasizing the collaborative spirit between the two nations.
