JTB Partners with South Korean Show to Promote Jordan’s Attractions

Amman: The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) has partnered with the production team of the popular South Korean program the Great Guide 2, aired on MBC every1, to film a special episode showcasing Jordan's most iconic tourist and cultural sites.

According to Jordan News Agency, the JTB stated that the program's crew visited Jordan from April 3 to 14, beginning with an exploratory tour followed by filming in selected locations. These included Petra, Wadi Rum, and Wadi Mujib, which were chosen for their historical significance and natural beauty. The production also highlighted authentic Jordanian experiences, emphasizing the Kingdom's traditional hospitality.

JTB Director General Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat emphasized the value of international media in shaping Jordan's global image as a travel destination. "Our collaboration with the Great Guide 2 aims to present Jordan's cultural and natural diversity in a way that resonates with Korean and broader Asian audiences," he remarked.

Arabiyat added that this partnership aligns with the Board's broader strategy to tap into new tourism markets. "Asia, particularly South Korea, holds great potential. We aim to attract travelers seeking authenticity and distinctive experiences, and this production supports that goal."

He noted that securing Jordan as a filming location was the result of consistent outreach to major Asian production companies. "This is the result of years of institutional work and marketing efforts targeting the Korean market. Today, we are seeing the impact of this long-term strategy."

The program, which enjoys a wide viewership across East Asia, will air its Jordan episode in four weekly parts starting Tuesday, June 3, 2025, through June 24. The episode features South Korean celebrities Kim Dae Ho, Park Myung-soo, and Choi Daniel, adding both star power and media appeal to the production.

Arabiyat concluded by expressing confidence that the collaboration will elevate awareness of Jordan's tourism offerings not only in Korea but throughout East Asia, contributing to increased visitor interest in the Kingdom.
