Amman: Jordan University Hospital (JUH) on Thursday engaged in discussions with the Italian Bambino Gesu` Children's Hospital to collaborate on surgeries for children with congenital heart diseases and deformities. This initiative is backed by the International Medical Center and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
According to Jordan News Agency, during a meeting with Dr. Tiziano Onesti, Chairman of the Italian pediatric hospital, JUH Director General Dr. Nader Bsoul emphasized the value of leveraging the expertise of the medical teams involved. These teams are set to perform surgeries and share medical knowledge in this specialized field, enhancing JUH's role as a key educational and training medical institution in Jordan.
Dr. Bsoul highlighted JUH's ongoing commitment to humanitarian medical initiatives in collaboration with international medical teams. He praised the hospital's pediatric heart surgery doctors for their high-quality skills and advanced scientific technology.
Dr. Onesti announced that services will commence next September, with plans for two medical campaigns annually. These campaigns will address cases referred by JUH's children's clinics, benefiting both refugees and Jordanian children, as assessed by the hospital's specialists.
