Irbid: The Language Center at the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) launched its second international scientific forum, focusing on "The Role of Digital Technology in Building Arabic Linguistic and Humanities Knowledge."
According to Jordan News Agency, the event gathered deans, professors, faculty members, and students as part of JUST's initiative to advance scientific research and enhance academic cooperation both regionally and internationally. The forum's primary aim was to explore the integration of digital technology into humanities and linguistic studies.
The forum featured discussions on research papers covering topics such as artificial intelligence, digital text analysis, and e-linguistic education. Researchers and scholars from India, Malaysia, Hungary, Algeria, the UAE, Qatar, and Jordan participated in these discussions, highlighting a global interest in the subject.
Vice President Ahmed Ajlouni, who inaugurated the event, stressed the significance of leveraging digital technology to support the Arabic language while also promoting linguistic and humanities studies. He pointed out that language is an essential human characteristic and a crucial tool for communication and cultural exchange, serving as a foundation for civilization and human advancement.
Ajlouni urged investment in digital tools to evaluate the Arabic language's development and effectiveness. He emphasized that merging it with modern technology could lead to new avenues for scientific innovation and bolster its status as a vibrant and evolving language.
Professor Mohammad Ibnian also commented on the forum, stating that it underscores the university's dedication to integrating technology with linguistic and humanistic research. He noted that the Language Center aims to expand international collaboration by developing digital projects that support the Arabic language and foster interaction with other languages and cultures.
