JUST Secures EU Funding to Boost Employability and Innovation

Irbid: Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) has secured European research funding under the EUSEED project (2025-2028), after being officially selected through a competitive call launched by the Jordan Youth Innovation Forum in cooperation with the University Agency of the Francophonie (AUF), with support from the European Union through the Interreg NEXT MED Program. The project aims to establish and finance university-based employability and innovation centers in Jordan and several countries in the region, including Cyprus, Egypt, Lebanon, and Palestine, to enhance applied research, entrepreneurship, and innovation, and to improve the employability of students and graduates.

According to Jordan News Agency, JUST President Khaled Salem said attracting international funding reflects the university's advanced standing at the regional and international levels and confirms its ability to compete in European research programs. He noted that the project represents a qualitative addition to the university's efforts to support innovation and entrepreneurship, and to enable students and graduates to acquire practical skills aligned with labor market needs and digital transformation, while strengthening networking and cooperation with international academic and research institutions.

Under the project, the university will receive pound 100,000 to equip its employability and innovation center, implement advanced training and research programs, build the capacities of students and graduates, provide guidance and entrepreneurial incubation, and enhance regional and international networking opportunities in line with labor market requirements and digital transformation. This achievement underscores the university's leading position and competitiveness at the regional and international levels, in line with its strategic vision to link higher education with scientific research, innovation, and sustainable development through its Center of Excellence for Innovative Projects.
