King Abdullah II and Iraq’s Prime Minister Discuss Regional Cooperation in New York

New York:King Abdullah II of Jordan held a meeting with Iraq's Prime Minister Ali Zaidi on Tuesday during the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting was also attended by Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. The discussions focused on reinforcing the strong ties between Jordan and Iraq, with a particular emphasis on enhancing cooperation in sectors such as energy, economy, and investment to serve mutual interests and promote regional stability. The talks also covered recent developments in the region. King Abdullah II stressed the importance of reaching agreements that would end current escalations and ensure the security and sovereignty of Arab states. He also expressed concern over Israel's actions in the region, warning against attempts to change the status quo in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza. The meeting was further attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, along with the Director of the Office of His Majesty, Alaa Batayneh.
